Over The Shoulder Shot

My interpretation of an Over The Shoulder Shot, is when a scene is shot over one subjects' shoulder to display another subject usually both subjects are having a back and forth conversation, or when the face or identity of one subject is being hidden.

I believe this technique has been used to more appropriately display the conversing nature of this scene to the audience. As a result of the back and forth switch between the casts' shoulders, the audience as a result becomes more attentive to the conversation and its contents.
