Wide Shot

My interpretation of Wide Shot is when the scene is shot with a similarity to a wide angled lens. I.e it is longer in its horizontal axis than it is in its vertical axis displaying a lot more of the scenery and setting. It most likely is used to display an environment.

I think this was used in this scene to draw viewers attention to the woodland scenery, further emphasising the exotic setting. The result of this is while the audience may still focus on the cast, their attention is also drew to the sheer size, length and detail of the backdrop.
