High Angle

My interpretation of a High Angle Shot is when a scene is shot down from an elevated level i.e. the camera is above the subject(s). This may be to convey the overall size of the set to the audience or may be commonly used to covey a nerving or tense theme, often in horror oriented scenes.

I believe this Shot was used in this scene to emphasise the fact that the doctor is outnumbered in an enclosed space, by the high elevation of the camera we are able to look over more of the set and see further in the distance showing more detail and more of the cast. This results in more of a tense scene, the fact that we can see more of the scenery allows us to see more daleks and understand how outnumbered and confined that the doctor is in this scenario.
